"Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful: Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. - Luke 10:42
When Jesus says something is a good part, it must be good indeed. To receive this good part that cannot be taken away from Mary, and from us, we need to find time each day, to sit under the feet of Jesus to learn from him. This is the most needful thing that we have to do. When we have so much care about other things and do not spend time with Christ, we will lose our good part. When we lose our spiritual focus, we will be troubled, probably more troubled when we meet God. About one in five Christians reads their Bible and pray to God everyday, which tells us many Christians are not receiving this good part from God, and they are troubled every too often. We admire other peoples’ spiritual maturity, however we must not forget that they regularly sit under Jesus’ feet and listen to him diligently and carefully. The strength of a Christian comes from inside, not outside. Let us give God the attention that he deserves, and learn from him, to allow him to change us.
