Forgiving Spirit

"And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil." - Luke 11:4

When Jesus set an example in praying for his disciples, He taught them to pray for forgiveness because "we also forgive every one that is indebted to us."

It is even difficult to forgive some of those that have offend us, and to forgive every single one of them is just next to impossible. However, this is a prayer demonstrated by Christ, thus also an instruction from God that we should strive to accomplish, and God will give us strength.

It is probably more for our own good to forgive, to hold a grudge for long time, is definitely not good to our physical, mental and spiritual well being. A readiness to forgive is a sign that we deem God’s forgiveness most precious, and willing to act likewise.

Not easy to attain this at all, this is probably why Jesus also prayed that "lead us not into temptation." So that God will not place us in a situation that we will be tempted beyond our capacities to forebear.
